The Kodiaks “Cherry Blossom, Evil & Alcohol” 7”

This 7” was released in 2004 on black vinyl and limited edition yellow vinyl (only 100 yellow copies pressed); the following was written by Tim Storm about the band:

THE KODIAKS are not a “band” they are a small cell of revolutionary guerilla fighters
with guitars for guns and a fanatical devotion to the P-A-R-T-Y. Fronted by the
monosyllabic cartoon character known only as “Yoshi” a fierce and drunken human
assault weapon of whom some have even suggested is the non-gay reincarnation of
Darby Crash, only less coherent. Guitarist TomM is as well known for his narrow-
minded musical fanaticism as he is for being stoned on the couch; it is his political dogma
that has propelled the Kodiak propaganda machine to inspire legions of mindless
followers who eagerly await his every audio command. Mike, the bass players bass
player who actually plays guitar, would represent the internal security of the group,
would, that is, if he wasn’t completely obliterated, his mind a putrid stew of sickening
glop and fecal matter, due to his voracious appetite for various illicit substances and low
priced adult beverages. His abuses are not only legendary but are also the subject matter
of an upcoming reality show on Fox.

Last, and certainly least we come to Lisa the D, her tragic drumming history has been well documented in such publications as Hustler and The Women’s Home Journal. After years of attempting to actually “play” the drums she
finally gave up and in one last desperate attempt at suicide, joined the Kodiaks.

Unfortunately for her, it actually worked?! Here, at last was a band, so inept and so
drunk that they were unaware of her presence for the first year and a half. The accidental
and utterly forgettable assemblage of these 4 miscreants has given us much more to
worry about than the global terrorist threat, fuck that, THE KODIAKS are the global
musical threat! I, for one, am very afraid. – Tim Storm, 8/25/04
